For Immediate Release:

San Francisco, California: Gumbo Social is bringing the heat to Bayview with its 5th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Boil, a lively outdoor celebration of food, music, and community taking place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 12 PM to 2 PM in the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant at 5176 3rd Street.

Hosted in partnership with the 6th Annual Butchertown Jazz Festival at Gratta Wines and as part of Sunday Streets Bayview, this event celebrates the birthday of Chef-Owner Dontaye Ball’s— better known as Mr. Gumbo—with a delicious and memorable experience.

“This is our 5th Annual Seafood Boil, and it means a lot to us to keep this tradition alive and continue celebrating gumbo and Gumbo Social. We’re excited to bring this incredible community event to Bayview for the first time. Of course, we're a little sad not to be hosting it in the Outer Sunset, which was our home base during the pandemic and a real lifeline for us. But we felt it was important to triple down on Bayview, our neighborhood, and give more people the chance to experience the richness and resilience of this great community.” —Dontaye Ball, Chef-Owner of Gumbo Social

The Menu

The boil features endless servings of Gumbo Social’s signature seafood boil made with shrimp, smoked sausage, baby potatoes, and corn, all tossed in Cajun spices, Old Bay, and butter. Note: we do not serve crab. With your purchase, you will receive a paper boat and will be able to eat as much as you can from 12 - 2 PM or until we run out.
